Can 3D Three-Dimensional Masks Really Be Reused?

To be honest, Disposable Face Mask has no suitable method for repeated use. These tools were not designed with reusable content in mind. The only thing that can be repeatedly sterilized is our warm cotton mask. Therefore, the various reuse methods mentioned in the current mainstream theory have problems. Almost every method will damage the protective effect of the mask, and the difference is the degree of strength.

Face Mask

For example, blowing with an air conditioner and baking with a heater, these two are to release the virus that may be adsorbed on the mask.

For example, everything related to water will damage the sealing of the Face Mask, and some of them will even be broken directly.

It is also related to ultraviolet rays, such as UV lamps or exposure to the sun. A lot of ultraviolet rays will change the ingredients in the mask and produce microplastics. The UV is relatively strong, and the sun is relatively weak, but the result is only the difference between strong and weak, so some people say that you can put the mask in the disadvantaged part of the sun and dry it. In fact, this method will also damage the structure of the mask.

And the one who blows the mask through a plastic bag, what is the temperature of the hair dryer? 50-60 degrees? Will it damage the protective ability of the mask? Did you believe it yourself when you wrote the thesis?

The headache is that moisture will damage the original filter structure of the Protective Face Mask, and the source of this moisture is actually the water vapor exhaled by humans. That is to say, the protective effect of ordinary medical masks has plummeted due to the problem of water vapor within 4 hours, and the medical and surgical masks are better, but the effect is limited. The N95 with a breathing valve can last a little longer, because this breathing valve can effectively discharge water vapor.

Now it is true that because the masks are not available, we have thought of various ways to use them repeatedly, but it is still the same sentence, this thing is not designed for repeated use at all. So let's judge on our own terms.

If the disposable masks are cleaned or disinfected, the protective effect will be reduced, so it is not recommended to clean and disinfect the masks. The precautions when wearing the mask are as follows:

1. Disposable masks: After wearing, they should not be cleaned and disinfected before repeated use. Because it is a Disposable Mask, it should be thrown away after use;

2. Ordinary medical protective masks: It is not recommended to wear them for more than 4 hours. If there is no obvious stain and damage, it can be used repeatedly, but it is not waterproof, and the protective effect will deteriorate after more than 4 hours;

3. Medical surgical masks: have a certain waterproof effect, so the wearing time can be a little longer. When there is no obvious stain or damage, the wearing time should not exceed 24 hours, and should be thrown away after 24 hours;

4. N95 mask with exhalation valve: We can use it repeatedly when there is no obvious damage or contamination. However, when wearing a mask in contact with a suspected infected person or a confirmed patient, the mask should be discarded and treated as medical waste, and should not be thrown away in a general waste bin. When wearing masks in medical units, there are special medical waste treatment procedures, which can achieve a good disinfection effect, including commonly used medical protective masks, which need to be treated as professional medical waste. Because the protective effect of medical protective masks is limited by a certain period of time, it is not recommended to wear them for more than 24 hours. In addition, the above-mentioned masks cannot be cleaned, because they are all disposable masks, so they should be thrown away after wearing. Ordinary people can throw away masks as domestic waste after using them. However, when masks have been worn in medical institutions and come into contact with suspected or confirmed patients, they should be thrown away as medical waste and treated with special measures to avoid infecting others.
